A trip to the happiest place on earth!!!

Disneyland 2008

Thanks to some wonderful Grandparents we took an awesome trip to Disneyland! The kids were great and everything was so much fun! We left on Wednesday the 18th and returned home on Sunday the 22nd.

Christian got to attend the Western Podiatric Medical Conference at the Disneyland hotel where we were staying. He met residency directors and got a surgery book signed by the author (only nerds get excited about those kinds of things). Also sat/slept through some boring lectures.
We spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Disneyland and Disney's California. Although it was DANG hot we had SO much fun.

We made memories with our pal Mickey...

We took a trip through everyones favorite, Fantasy Land...

Made sure to make the dreams of a little girl come true!

What is Disneyland without the Parade...Christian's favorite part.
(not really)

Spent some goofy times in Toon Town.

The heat was not pleasant but we made due.

After the Fantasmic Show Brooklyn turned to me and said,
"I am so happy that Mickey was the Hero!"

Our trip to Disneyland was everything and more! We look forward to our next visit, maybe to celebrate graduation in 2010

I am working on the video footage from the trip so that will come later...

until then may all your dreams com true!!!

Happy Father's Day

My Dad

First and foremost I need to pay tribute to my Dad! Wow, where do I start? My Dad has sacrificed so much for me. When it was just the two of us he did all he could to make sure I had the love and support a little 3 year old needed and especially a Mom. (well a girl needed someone to do her hair)

Some precious memories of my Dad include learning how to ride a bike (well sort of) he took off the training wheels and I just took off. I also remember eating a lot of Macaroni and Cheese and Kidney Bean Casserole. YUM!!! I also love the smell of his work, weird I know. My Dad has owned a Lube Shop ever since I can remember (Minute Lube, Quaker State, and Jiffy Lube) and the smell of that place brings back such great memories. Like; sitting in his office, lunch with Dad at work, and getting a soda and a hostess fruit pie.
My Dad is a fighter, especially when it comes to his Family. He fought so hard to have me and I thank my lucky stars for that. He gave me so much. He made sure I had the Church in my life and the Gospel centered home that made me who I am today. When people say I am like my Dad I smile really BIG because I love my Dad. He is literally my HERO- and only a few of you know what I mean.

Thanks Dad for all you have done and all you do today. I can feel your love all the way to Iowa!

and I quote from you Dad,

What is your favorite memory of your dad?

How has your role as a father changed now that your kids are older and have children of their own?
My role now, it seems, is to not let my children down. I don't want them to find out their Dad is not all that they thought he was! (be an example to my grandchildren)

Craziest?
I peeled a banana to the music of "2001, a Space Odyssey" in front of the entire stake.

There you go...don't tell my secrets. :)

I don't want anyone to think that I have forgotten my wonderful husband! He is the best Dad. I have never met someone so focused and dedicated. He puts so much time and effort into all he is doing and will not fail. As he is entering his Third year of Podiatric Medical School he never fails to impress me. He often try's to explain the meaning of drugs and body parts to me and I just nod and say "oh yeah honey!" In all seriousness he is everything I ever wanted in a Father for my children. He is funny and loving. There is never a dull moment with "Buddy around." He is always shakin' it or doing some sound affects.
Brooklyn said today that she loves it when Daddy dances silly and scares her. She such a daddy's girl.

It breaks Christian's heart when he can't be home all the time right now because of school, but I want him to know that he gives more to this family than he realizes. I love him so much and Brooklyn and Landon have the best Dad in the world.

"I love you to the moon and back" says Brookie

Summer Fun

I know I have been slacking on the Blog, but we have been having too much fun since Dad has been out of school!

We had an eventful weekend (May 31st) with a trip to the Temple, the Omaha Zoo and Jenni teaching at a Dance Workshop. -Pictures of the workshop may come later???

Iowa has been not on my good side lately. We had a horrible winter with ice storms and more. Now we have tornado warnings and flooding, and soon to come the HOT Humid Summer!

But all in all, we are sure thankful for all the fun family stuff there is to do around here!
