Ski School

Brooklyn went to ski school while everyone else snowboarded. She had so much fun and did very well! She even thought she would be going every day like kindergarten. Here are some pics of our little skier! I have a lot of video but our cord is in storage and well, that is the black hole!
So this is all you get for now.

When it Rains it Floods

It hasn't stopped raining since Sunday and so this is what you get when you live in the Valley...

I almost forgot that it gets like this almost every winter. I remember one year when I was young it rained so much our neighbors took their canoes out in the street to get around. It is so much fun when you are a kid!

Time to go get some rain boots.

I think if it was a little warmer Landon would have jumped right in.

Two Weeks Notice

Only two more weeks until we get Daddy home for good!!!

Every time I think about the past 8 months I can't believe how fast time has gone by. When we moved out here I was pregnant and now Claire is 4 months old. Brooklyn only has 4 months of school left and Landon is potty trained. (I can't believe I did all that with no husband). I sure as heck couldn't have made it without my wonderful in laws who have done so much for us and sacrificed beyond measure. Also to my parents and brothers and sister who help out with the kids all the time and never complain. You have been my life savers!!! I am sure after this time living out here my brothers will only want one kid, if any... Just Kidding

I am glad this time in our life is coming to a close and we can move on to the next. Christian and I have learned a lot from this experience and even though we have grown in many ways we would NEVER want to do it again. We have been very blessed and I thank my Father in Heaven for 3 beautiful healthy children, a hard working husband and the strength I need to be a good mother and wife. I hope we will be given the opportunity to "Pay it forward" someday.

Two tiny hands and feet

A little tradition we started with Brooklyn when we lived in Utah was to go to Color Me Mine and put the kids hands and foot prints on a tile. We are lucky enough to have had a Color Me Mine close by to be able to continue this tradition with all of our children.

You gotta love that hair...
Here is the pre-fired plate.

Christmas Morning 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas and are truly blessed beyond measure!

Claire and her presents from Santa. Lots of clothes and some teething toys.

We all love Claire's smile. She has started laughing now and we can't get enough of that sweet baby girl. It is so funny how her eyebrows turn up when she smiles so big. She is such a easy going, wonderful baby. Now if she would just grow some more hair, she is starting to look like an old man.

"Speed Racer", I mean Landon got a bike from Santa and is now officially a "Big Boy" too. He is going potty in the toilet and got some cool underwear in his stocking!

Brooklyn got an Easy Bake Oven from Santa, the same kind I had when I was her age (just remodeled a little.) What a good big sister she is, we are all so proud of how well she is doing in school.
When Brooklyn saw the Hoola Hoop from Santa she said, "I didn't even tell him I wanted this, how did he know! I love it."

Santa is pretty amazing I said. He knows everything.
We also got a really fun Wii game from Christian's sister Kelly called Playground that was a hit! Everyone loves playing it, even Brooklyn and Landon.

After being separated from the one you love really puts things into perspective for you. So, all Christian and I wanted was to be with each other for Christmas this year and we got exactly what we wanted.

Love you babe xoxo

Christmas Eve Pajammas

Every year the kids get to open one gift on Christmas Eve and it just happens to always be Pajamas. Here are the cute PJ's the kids got this year.

The Christmas Story

Narrated by Papa Tolboe

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

When the Wise Men saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh

And that is the story of Christ's birth depicted by the Burnham and Tolboe Family.

Christmas Lights at the Oakland Temple

One of our family traditions is to go see the lights at the Temple. Whether we are in Utah or California the lights are all so beautiful! This particular temple is special to us because this is where Christian and I got married.

Oakland California LDS Temple

After visiting the temple Landon said that he wanted to marry "Mommy" in this temple.

Dynamic Dolphin

Brooklyn was awarded the Dynamic Dolphin award at school for showing responsibility. She got to go eat lunch with the principal and got this cool award. When I asked her what she got it for she said,
"I don't know maybe I did something good?"

Good job Brookie we are so proud of you!!!

Family Pictures

Our cute little family of five. Landon wouldn't smile for anything so this is what we got...

Where did December go?

December came and went way too fast! It seems just yesterday that we were counting the days until Dad would be coming and now he is gone back to Michigan...

I have been way too busy enjoying the wonderful activities of the season (and my husband) that I haven't sat down to blog, but don't worry I will catch you up.

To kick off the holiday season, the kids went to Grandma Burnham's to decorate Gingerbread Men and they thoroughly enjoyed eating the candy and making a mess.

Then my handsome little brother Sean, went to Winter Formal, but wouldn't let us stalk him and take pictures of him and his date so my sister posed as his date.

The last time I saw my Brother in a tux was at my wedding and he looked like this. Awe how they grow up so fast! Aren't they adorable!!!

More December catch up tomorrow...
